Drive and discover the unique archipelagos of Lofoten and Vesterålen with their spectacular glacial rock formations dominating the seascape. Clustered burgundy and white fishing hamlets cling to the coastline. Wildlife is in abundance, observe whales, seals and birdlife, walk along beaches more suited to the Caribbean and appreciate the natural surroundings that has inspired artists down the centuries.
Day 1 UK – Vesterålen
Scheduled SAS flights to Evenes via Oslo. Collect your hire car and drive to Sortland. Overnight at the Sortland Hotel for 3 nights.
Days 2 – 3  Vesterålen Islands
A perfect location for whale watching can be found at Andenes. Follow the Andoya National Tourist Route along the west coast, which also runs alongside one of Norway's finest and longest sandy beaches.
Day 4  Sortland – Svolvær
After breakfast take the more scenic rv 82 stopping off at the Hurtigruten museum at Stokmarknes. Board the Melbu - Fisebol ferry and continue on to Svolvaer. Overnight for 4 nights at Svinoya Rorbuer.
Days 5 – 7  Lofoten Islands
Visit Refsvikhula, a cathedral like cave with 3000 year old wall drawings. Drive to Moskenes where 140 different species of birds have been spotted. View the outdoor sculptures at Flakstad, Moskenes, Rost, Vestvagoy and Vagen, which form part of the Artscape Nordland project. Visit the Lofotr Viking Museum detailing a 1,000 history of this area.
Day 8  Lofoten – UK
Drive back to Evenes airport.  Return hire car before return flight to UK.
