Lakes and Locks on the Gota Canal

Travel from coast to coast in grand style on a 19th century Gota Canal steamer. Enjoy some of Sweden’s most picturesque scenery whilst drifting through the tranquil countryside, across her great lakes and through a network of 66 locks. Dine on stylish cuisine in a stateroom once graced by royalty and join in the included shore excursions along the way. Complete your trip with time in Gothenburg and Stockholm.

THE STEAMERS
The Juno, Wilhelm Tham and Diana were built specifically for the Gota Canal. The oldest dates from 1874 and all the steamers have been meticulously maintained and restored preserving the authentic atmosphere of a bygone era. The National Maritime Museum has recognised all three boats for their historical importance.

ON BOARD
Each steamer has an antique dining room and saloon faced in mahogany and serves food to die for. Above deck there’s a surprising amount of open space with deck chairs and wicker seats in which to relax and watch the day go by. The destinations and excursions all add to this quintessential Swedish experience.

CABINS
Each cabin is small but perfectly formed. Orient-Express style compartments each with a hand basin and decorated to reflect the original Art Nouveau elegance. The WC/shower facilities are in the adjacent corridor.
Differences in price reflect standard of furnishings, natural light (picture window or port hole) and height above waterline rather than any differences in facilities.
