Spitsbergen Winter Adventure

Spitsbergen offers you an authentic Arctic experience in the realm of the Polar Bear. Participate in exciting excursions in spectacular surroundings. Harness your own dogs and mush into the wilderness, track the northern lights by snowcat, snowmobile or husky, delve in ice caves under the frozen glacier. The fact that the streets have no names and it is customary to check your gun in at the door (along with your shoes) just adds to the frontier feel of the world’s northernmost city.

Please see below feeback from one of our clients who has recently returned from Spitsbergen.

I wanted to send an email to thank you personally for a fantastic holiday, it was more than I could have imagined, a real bucket list experience. Thanks to your organising and planning I had a lovely experience in Oslo and the Quality Hotel staff where fantastic and gave me lots of tips for the trip to Svalbard I even squeezed in a trip to Oslo it was a mini holiday in itself. Svalbard is unbelievable I will definitely go back especially to Base Camp Trappers Lodge, they are amazing and the lodge is stunning, they rearranged the trips I booked with you so I did the ice cave and night dog sled on the same day giving me two full days for longer adventures which were out of this world. To be honest the most magical trip was the evening dog sled you booked as it was under the northern lights - it was how I imagined in my dreams - thank you so much for your hard work organising my holiday. I think the service and knowledge you and your company provide are outstanding and I have recommended you to other travellers and my colleagues. (Maxine Berry - Feb 15)

DAY 1 Oslo
Fly to Oslo and overnight at the Comfort Hotel Runway, just 7 minutes from the airport. Central Oslo is just 20 minutes by airport train, should you wish to explore the capital.
DAY 2 Svalbard
Within 3 hours, the early morning flight from Oslo to Longyearbyen transports you to the world’s northernmost airport. Self-transfer to your hotel for 4 nights. The remainder of your day is at leisure. We do recommend a visit to the Svalbard Museum in order to learn more about the fascinating history of this Arctic outpost.
DAY 3-5 Longyearbyen
These 3 days are free for you to choose your Spitsbergen Adventure, Contrary to popular belief, it is not always dark. The mystical Polar Nights (when the sun does not rise above the horizon) last until mid-Feb. Residents consider this a special time, when the only light is from streetlamps, the reflections of the moon on the glistening snow or from the Northern Lights, which can show at any time of the day. By mid-March the archipelago is enjoying 12 hours of daylight, by mid-April the sun does not set.
DAY 6 UK
Self-transfer to Longyearbyen airport for your return flight to the UK.
