Wrapped in a cloak of pristine white snow this informal, friendly family run lodge offers you the warmest of welcomes.  Home to its own husky kennels and reindeer corral, this is a fairy-tale setting for a magical Father Christmas experience.

DAY 1: Leave for Lapland

Fly from London Heathrow to Kittila (via Helsinki). On arrival, you will be met by your local guide and will transfer by coach to Harriniva Hotel. Check-in and head to your room, where your thermal clothing will be ready. Enjoy an evening welcome drink and meal upon arrival.

DAY 2: Huskies

After breakfast you will meet the excited Harriniva huskies.  This 400-strong family all have their own names and are eager to start the morning run.  The only sounds that break the snowy silence are the panting of the dogs and enthusiastic calls of the musher.  On returning to the kennels, meet some of the dogs before returning to the hotel for lunch.  After lunch you have the opportunity to join in with some traditional arts and crafts for take time at your leisure to explore Harriniva.

DAY 3: Reindeer, Snow-Fun & Father Christmas

Enjoy a full breakfast buffet before taking your heading out into the Arctic wilderness. Today you will meet some of Father Christmas's reindeer, taking a short ride in a traditional reindeer sleigh.  You will also get the opportunity to try cross-country skiing and test your balancing skills whilst snow-shoeing.  There are mini snowmobiles for the children to try, and the toboggans and kick-sled runs are enjoyed by people of all ages.

Each family will take a memorable journey out into the forest by snowtrain where you will be directed by elves along a trail marked by lanterns, to a giant log cabin where Father Christmas lives.  Whilst waiting for your sleigh to arrive, enjoy Christmas activities including baking traditional gingerbread cookies.  Tonight a festive dinner will be served.

DAY 4: Snowmobiles

After breakfast the whole family will enjoy a thrilling snowmobile ride into the Arctic forest.  Driving in pairs, adults will take turns in driving with children pulled separately in a sleigh behind the local guide.  After lunch you can take part in traditional gingerbread house building and decorating and playing in the snow with your new found friends.  A well deserved dinner will be served in the Aurora Borealis Kota.

DAY 5: Return to the UK

After breakfast, if there's time, enjoy one last toboggan or snowball fight before transferring to the airport for your return flight home.
