Take a ski break with a difference and combine a 3 night stay at the ICEHOTEL with one night in a Snow room and a 4 night ski break at the Arctic resort of Björkliden. Lying close to the Abisko National Park, Björkliden’s setting is truly awesome with its 23 runs latticing mountains against a panorama of the frozen Lake Tornetrask and the Lapporten gap, a unique glacial valley that was the Sami reindeer herders trail to their winter grazing grounds.

With good snow depth from the beginning of February along with a good range of pistes (8 blue, 2 green, 11 red and 3 black) the skiing is suitable for all ability ranges and the resort’s proximity to the magnetic North Pole provides good chances of seeing the Northern Lights, skiing under which is something you’ll never forget.

Hotel Fjället sits at the foot of the slopes, is somewhat utilitarian in appearance from the outside but the lounge bar with its log fire is the focal point of Björkliden’s après ski life and testifies to the warmth of the hospitality here. All 48 rooms have TV, telephone and WC/shower and are simply furnished in Scandinavian style. There is a sauna, gym, solarium and ski shop.
