Your White Wedding
Imagine a carpet of snow stretching as far as the eye can see. A silence so pure you can almost hear it. Picture a hotel with its own chapel sculpted from glistening ice or a reindeer corral by a log cabin. Close your eyes and listen for the haunting sound of a Lappish folk song. Imagine the sound of huskies barking and the swish of sleigh runners through the snow. Or the gentle swirl of a river winding its way from glacier to open sea. Picture your wedding as you would like it to be – and we’ll help make your dream come true.
Our favourite white wedding spots are the Ice Hotel in Swedish Lapland; Kakslauttanen in Finnish Lapland, Oddi and the Langjökull glacier wedding in Iceland, each unique in their own special way. We have arranged weddings at all of them and can answer most of those small but important questions you will have. We are here to help make “your dream come true”: we just need to know what that dream is to help you choose which suits you best.
The itineraries shown on the following pages provide a framework around which your personal arrangements can be planned.
Need to know
The legal, residency and documentary requirements for getting married in Sweden, Finland, Norway and Iceland are fairly simple and straight forward. However, all the necessary documentation needs to be with the Civil Authorities well beforehand so we generally can’t arrange weddings with less than 10 weeks notice. Please ask us for an Information Pack for a specific country’s requirements. The wedding programmes we illustrate can be modified in any way, shape or form. Please just get in touch.
First Things First
When considering dates for your wedding, please consult us in the first instance. The Pastor’s duties, both temporal and pastoral, take necessary precedence over weddings for foreign nationals and in the case of civil weddings, the local magistrate may not be available on certain days of the week.
