Combine a room in Stockholm’s newest luxury hotel Nobis, with an Art Suite at the ultra chic ICEHOTEL followed by 2 nights in the uber cool Tree Hotel all products of innovative Swedish designers.
The Nobis is in the heart of the most prestigious part of Stockholm with designer shops, restaurants and clubs on your doorstep, although with the scent of truffles in the hotel’s dining room you may not want to eat out. ICEHOTEL has been used by Herb Ritts and Versace for photo shoots, stayed in by just about everybody that’s anybody and spawned ICEBARS from Milan to London and just celebrated its 21st anniversary. The TREEHOUSE is somewhat younger having opened just last year but is destined (we feel) to become just as edgy. And whilst in between rooms you’ll have a chance to catch the Northern Lights, snowmobile in Lapland’s forest wilderness and much more besides.
DAY 1 UK – STOCKHOLM
Scheduled SAS flight to Stockholm. Private transfer to and overnight at Nobis Hotel. Take a wander round to Stureplan for a mocha or more and then on to the Spy Bar or Sturecompagniet.
DAY 2 STOCKHOLM – JUKKASARVI
Breakfast and private transfer to the airport for a flight to Kiruna and transfer to the ICEHOTEL. On arrival, check in and lunch at the local Inn, after which collect thermal clothing and take a guided tour of the Ice Hotel and its environs. Later, start the evening with a transfer to Esrange. Dinner is around an encampment alongside Lake Salmijärvi to look for you favourite star constellations and hopefully the Northern lights. Return to the ICEHOTEL for a nightcap in the Absolut Bar before snuggling into your sleeping bag in your Designer Ice Suite.
DAY 3 JUKKASARVI – HARADS
After a hot berry juice, warming sauna and breakfast transfer to Kiruna for the train to Harads where your private guide will be waiting to take you to the TREEHOTEL. On arrival check in to your chosen TREE room (that featured here is the UFO). Dinner (payable locally) in the restaurant at the adjacent Pensionat.
DAY 4 A DAY IN THE LIFE OF THE SAMI
A visit to Flakaberg in the Rame valley and the family home of Lars Eriksson for a day with his family recounting tales of a past Sami life and showing you his family’s present one. They’ll take you to their reindeer corral where you can try your hand at reindeer lassoing; take you on a snowmobile safari along Lake Gorgini to a Kota for a traditional meal around an open fire and above all endow you with the warmth of their hospitality. Return to TREEHOTEL. Dinner (payable locally).
DAY 5 STOCKHOLM – UK
Self transfer to Stockholm’s Arlanda airport and return flight to UK.
