Indulge your inner Jeremy Clarkson with our Driving on Ice tour with an overnight stay in a Designer Ice Suite at the ICEHOTEL; a test drive on Saab’s professional ice circuit; a race along a forest trail in an ATV and dinner at the Esrange Space Centre with binoculars at the ready to search for the Northern Lights.
Your Saab test drive starts with setting ABS functions and stabilization systems to (test) standards under the supervision of experienced and qualified instructors. They then lead you around the looped course where you can test the cars systems and your own ability. Your ATV drive is in a Polaris Ranger RZR the gold standard vehicle in ‘side by side’ ATV vehicles with tilt steering and lowest centre of gravity and power to weight ratio on the market, for the ultimate adrenaline flush drive. The Swedish Space Corporation’s Esrange Centre is just outside of Kiruna and in a spot that needs to be clear enough for satellite launches so the chances of seeing the Northern Lights are exceptional.The designer Art Suites are designed by the hotel’s own design team or by international ice artists: all have imaginative themes, sculptures, mood lighting and a spectacular bed with double sleeping bag.
DAY 1 UK – STOCKHOLM
Scheduled SAS flight to Stockholm. Private transfer to and overnight at Anglais Hotel. Take a wander round to Stureplan for a mocha or more and then on to the Spy Bar or Sturecompagniet.
DAY 2 STOCKHOLM – ICEHOTEL
Breakfast in the hotel before private transfer to the airport for a late morning flight to Kiruna and transfer to Jukkasjarvi and the ICEHOTEL. On arrival, check in and lunch at the local Inn, after which collect thermal clothing and take a guided tour of the ICEHOTEL and its environs. Later, start the evening with a transfer to Esrange (or if necessary to Aurora Sky Station depending on weather conditions). Beginning with a welcome drink a 3 course dinner is prepared around an encampment alongside Lake Salmijärvi whilst you study the night sky with binoculars, look for your favourite star constellations and hopefully the Northern Lights. Return to the ICEHOTEL for a nightcap in the Absolut Bar before snuggling into your sleeping bag in your Designer Ice Suite.
DAY 3 ICEHOTEL
Wake up to a hot cloudberry juice, take a sauna (optional) and breakfast across at the Inn. Afterwards, head off to the specially built ice track to drive your Saab 9-3 Sport Combi under the supervision of a skilled instructor. Begin with manoeuvring tests on the ice which push the ABS and stabilization systems to the limit. Out on the track your instructor guides you around a course to test the car, its systems and your own abilities at up to 100km/hr. Coffee and cake in Sami-style. Afterwards switch vehicles and terrain, swapping your Turbo Saab for Polaris Ranger and ice track for rough cut track through the forest. Follow a route through the pines and check out your skills against the competition. Your final night is spent either in a Kaamos, Nordic or Northern Lights room. The local Inn serves Lapp specialities and has both table d’hôte and à la carte menus.
DAY 4 ICE HOTEL – UK
Breakfast at the Inn. Morning free for a brief walk around the village with its traditional Sami buildings and church, before transfer to Kiruna airport and return flight(s) via Stockholm to the UK.

These double rooms are spacious and bright like Kaamos - the midwinter light, with a contemporary Scandinavian design.
The double bed in some rooms can be converted into twin beds (Kaamos twin room).
ICEHOTEL - Nordic Hotel Chalet
Two separate bedrooms, one with a double bed that can be converted into twin beds and one with bunk beds. A total of 4 beds.
ICEHOTEL - Northern Lights Hotel Chalet
The Northern light hotel chalet has two separate bedrooms for 3 persons, meaning a single bed and a double bed. The rooms have a ceiling skylight for a view of Midnight Sun or Northern lights.
