IN VIKING FOOTSTEPS |

A full day excursion north of the city to Sigtuna and Uppsala
through fertile flatlands treading the pathways of Norsemen. First
stop is the Viking bridge marked with runic stones on the road
between Vallentuna and the old Viking part of Edsviken; then to
Arkils Tingplats seat of a Viking parliament; on to Granby where
there are the ruined remains of a Viking Longhouse and from there to
Sigtuna, an early Viking market place. Then to Gamla Uppsala with
its Royal mounds, three grass covered barrows where royals were
buried before they journeyed to Valhalla! Lastly on to Uppsala and
its 13th century cathedral with its twin spires and single smaller

Beginning in the Ulriksdals Palace set in its bisected lawn park
laid out in a modernist classic style, the interior provides a
panoramic view of regal design spanning four centuries. From there
to Haga Park characterised by its winding paths, leafy bowers
ornamental lakes, stately beeches and signature gilded blue copper
marquee. Then visit the mansard roofed Lovo church dating from the
second half of the 12th century with its ornate pulpit, circular
altarpiece and runic stones. Lastly Drottingholm Palace dating from
the 17th century; seat of the House of Bernadotte and home to the
current Royal Family including The Duchess of Helsingland. The
Chinese Pavillion, a one time birthday present for a Queen has an

In the eyes of many, Stockholm is the most beautiful of the
Nordic capitals with its lattice work of bridges and viaducts
knitting together the islands on which the city stands. Our city
tour takes you to the most iconic of the city’s attractions with the
added twist of focusing on the history of Alfred Nobel, the inventor
of dynamite and founder of the Peace Prize in his own name.
Djurgarden, the old Old Royal hunting grounds and home to the Vasa
Museum; Gamla Stan with its medieval alleyways dating back to the
13th century and mix of Hansa and Renaissance architecture; the
Konsert Huset, an architectural masterpiece that hosts the Nobel
Prize ceremony and a stop at Fjallgatan on Sodermalm for an insiders
