Enjoy the Gaudi like swirls, medieval ornamentation, story book spires and mannered chic of the Art Nouveau style in which Ålesund was built. Perfect for a town and country break: you can wander the streets of this fairy tale city, dine on fish that’s been landed on the quayside that day and cram masses of dazzling experiences into a day guided out to and through the Geirangerfjord.

DAY 1: UK - ÅLESUND

Scheduled SAS flight to Ålesund via Oslo. Self transfer to your selected hotel for 3 nights.

DAY 2: ÅLESUND

Day at leisure to explore this art nouveau gem with an optional evening excursion to the island fishing village of Ona crowned with an ochre lighthouse for a fish supper.

DAY 3: GEIRANGERFJORD

Cultural and scenic vistas unfold by the hour starting from the Quayside in Ålesund and steaming along the Geirangerfjord on the Hurtigruten disembarking in the eponymous village for an afternoon ashore. Early evening departure by ferry back down the fjord to Hellesylt for an ‘up close and personal’ experience. Continue by bus through the boulder scree slashed Norangsdal valley to the village of Oye before continuing back to Ålesund.

DAY 4: ÅLESUND - UK

Self transfers to airport for a return flight(s) to UK.

Ona Lighthouse

Boat trip to the small island of Ona in the open ocean, visit the lighthouse and see the small community with only 50 inhabitants. Fish soup supper included. Sun, Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday departures at 20.00, 4 hours.
