Ålesund and the Geiranger Fjord

Enjoy the Gaudi like swirls, medieval ornamentation, story book spires and mannered chic of the Art Nouveau style in which Ålesund was built. Perfect for a town and country break: you can wander the streets of this fairy tale city, dine on fish that’s been landed on the quayside that day and cram masses of dazzling experiences into a day guided out to and through the Geirangerfjord.

Day 1 UK-Alesund
Scheduled flight to Ålesund via Oslo. Self transfer to Hotel Brosundet for 3 nights.
Day 2 Alesund
Day at leisure to explore this art nouveau gem with an optional evening excursion for a fish supper on the island fishing village of Ona crowned with an ochre red lighthouse.
Day 3 Geirangerfjord
Cultural and scenic vistas unfold by the hour starting along the boulder scree slashed Norangsdal valley by bus to the village of Oye, from there to Hellesylt for the local ferry for a close up experience of the fjord and time ashore in the eponymous village at its end. Then back in more majestic style on a Hurtigruten packet ship and along the coast to the  quayside in Alesund.
Day 4 Alesund – UK
Self transfer to airport for return flight to UK.

Hotel Brosundet Alesund Norway
Hotel Brosundet

A little imagination and you will sense history when you gaze out the windows of Hotel Brosundet. 100 years ago the person leaning out these windows would have been someone waiting for a fishing-boat to deliver its catch. The old Art Nouveau warehouse is now transformed into a tasteful hotel. Our hotel is a retreat for your stay in Aalesund. Hotel Brosundet is small and intimate with only 47 rooms.

Wildlife Sea Safari

Whisk out along the coast in a high speed RIB for spectacular sightings of puffins, tulmars and eagles perching on the bird cliffs of numerous islands skerries. Mon, Wed & Thurs departures at 18.00 hours.
