Be amazed by your surroundings in this thrilling Jeep Safari
Be mesmerised by the Icelandic features that you will see on your journey
See sights like never before whilst travelling on your jeep safari
Gullfoss’s frozen stalactites; Pingvellir valley’s lead grey lake; Vatnajokull on which you can take a gentle hike and Jokulsaron glacial lagoon with its calving bergs are just a few of the iconic sights you’ll see on our Safari Adventures by SuperJeep.
Guided by Haukun Snorrason (an accomplished photographer) and with hospitality provided at his renovated farmhouse to the east of Vik by his wife Hadda. This is a unique opportunity to see Iceland’s dramatic scenery in its winter cloak and experience personal Icelandic hospitality.
DAY 1 UK-REYKJAVIK – HVERAGARDI
Scheduled flight to Keflavik where you’re met by your guide/host and led along the moss clad Reykjanes peninsula to the Blue Lagoon for a bathe in its translucent, turquoise waters. Afterwards continue to Hotel Eldhester close to the greenhouse village of Hvergardi for the night.
DAY 2 HVERAGARDI – HRIFUNES FARM
Follow the Pingvellir valley with its slate grey lake bordered with snow capped mountains to Geysir with its spouting plumes of water and bubbling mud pits before arriving at Gullfoss, the Golden Waterfall, whose foaming waters drop down a double fall into a gorge marking the rift between East and West tectonic plates before continuing down through South Iceland. Enjoy two nights at Hrifunes Farm. Enjoy dinner cooked by Hadda.
DAY 3 SKAFTAFELL & JOKULSARON
After breakfast continue your Super Jeep adventure to Skaftafell National Park with its contrasting landscapes of dwarf birch woodland, glacial tongues and melt water rivers at the edge of Vatnajokull, Iceland’s largest glacier. Take an easy walk on the glacier itself and search for ice caves before continuing to Jokularson lagoon with its icebergs calving off and changing shape over the years before they drift out to sea. Return to Hrifunes for dinner.
DAY 4 HRIFUNES – REYKJAVIK
Drive along the south coast past Vik in Myrdal to Dyrholaey and the black sand beaches where Reynisdranger’s basalt sea stacks dominate the seascape. Continue past Skogafoss and Seljandafoss, two of Iceland’s waterfalls, the latter having a pathway along which you can walk behind the curtain of water dropping off the fellside. Continue to Reykjavik for a convivial evening at Haukur and Hadda’s home before transferring to the Hotel Reykjavik for the night.
DAY 5 REYKJAVIK – UK
Morning at leisure before transfer to Keflavik and return flight to UK.
