Reykjavik New Year Fire & Ice

Celebrate New Year in a style peculiar to Icelanders that attracts visitors from around the world not least because unlimited fireworks can be had by anyone which Icelanders take maximum advantage of and garland the city with displays. Start the evening with our ‘Buffet on Ice’; blow out the Old Year on our bonfire tour; bring in the New with champagne and fireworks and then dance the night away.

Over the next few days, snowmobile across a glacier, search for the Northern Lights or simply chill out in the Blue Lagoon. Reykjavik is an unlikely city to warrant the description “as hip and happening as it is possible to be”. The shops are stylish and according to A.A. Gill, the women are “the most beautiful in the world”. The locals have developed a legendary and prodigious reputation for being able to enjoy themselves. This ultra-modernity and party town atmosphere dramatically contrasts with the island interior with its geologically sculpted scenery; glacial ice fields, sand deserts, lava fields, volcanoes, waterfalls and geysers. All of which you can see either by horseback, Super Jeep, snowmobile or, for the fainthearted, from the comfort of a reclining coach seat.
