Traditional village homes of Iceland, covered in thick white snow
Experience Reykjavík’s cutting edge everything; take in Iceland’s best known natural attractions: Gullfoss, Geysir and Pingvellir all glistening in a winter coat of snow; do a little culture vulturing up by Reykholt, shrine to Saga author Snorri Sturluson; drive out along the Snæfellsnes peninsula topped at its end with an eternal ‘pyramid of snow’ and round off your trip with a bathe in the Blue Lagoon.
Whilst many of the roads in the North and East of the island are not for the fainthearted in the spring months, those in the South West are all paved and generally snow free or only lightly covered. Our routing for this trip is along these for short distances at a time and a stress free way to discover and enjoy some of the island's winter scenery and geological high spots.
You'll take in the Snaefellsnes Peninsula, Gullfoss, Geysir and Pingviller at your own pace. And between now and the end of April we're upgrading the hire car provided FREE, gratis and for nothing.
