Here, alongside the border with Sweden, the Pietikainen family have offered hospitality for over 25 years to travellers, fishermen, skiers and adventurers as well as rearing Siberian Huskies. Your adventure includes safari opportunities through some of the world’s most beautiful scenery in the midst of Lapland’s fells and forests.
DAY 1 UK – KITTILA
Scheduled Finnair flight(s) to Kittila via Helsinki. Private transfer to the Harriniva Wilderness Hotel. Dinner and overnight for 4 nights.
DAY 2 SNOWMOBILE SAFARI
After breakfast it is time to meet your guide who will give you full instructions on how to drive a snowmobile before setting off. The distance driven is around 30kms and the journey covers perfect fell scenery with forests and frozen lakes. Afternoon at leisure. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
DAY 3 HUSKY SAFARI
After breakfast your guide will take you to meet the huskies and after a lesson in ‘mushing’ you set off on an exciting 17km tour through the snow clad forest driving your own dog team. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
DAY 4 OPTIONAL SAFARIS
Day at leisure or for optional excursions.
DAY 5 KITTILA – UK
Breakfast and private car transfer to Kittila airport for scheduled Finnair flight(s) via Helsinki to Heathrow.
Harriniva has 46 pine-clad rooms all with their own private WC/Shower. In addition there are 6 larger rooms with private saunas and 12 two floor apartment style rooms which can accommodate up to 6 people available on request. There is a restaurant, a bar and a wellness centre with sauna and outdoor hot tubs.
