The Beautiful & Historical Helsinki Cathedral

Brief Encounter Helsinki City Break

Helsinki is an intriguing mixture: a neo-classical marvel with an art nouveau quarter interspersed with Alvar Aalto's spectacular modern architecture and set on a peninsula jutting out into the Baltic. Smart pavement cafés on Esplanaden; gourmet restaurants at a fraction of London prices; concerts and ballet at Finlandia Hall; boat trips and great value shopping particularly for such iconic design brands as Arabia and Iittala.

Day 1 - Helsinki
Morning flight to Helsinki. On arrival self transfer to and check in to your chosen hotel for a 3 night stay. The rest of your day is at your leisure.
Day 2-3 Helsinki
Helsinki delivers a remarkable array of experiences, reflecting periods of Swedish and Russian rule, its strategic location between East and West, together with an intriguing mix of some spectacular modern architecture. Meander through the largest concentration of Art Nouveau buildings in Northern Europe and visit some outstanding museums. It is difficult to ignore the imposing Helsinki Cathedral. Take a short ferry ride from Market Square to Suomenlinna Sea Fortress, one of the largest in the world, and go on a culinary adventure at the Old Market Hall. Tallin is also just a 3 hour ferry ride away so you may wish to spend the day or even a night or 2 here.
Day 4 UK
Morning at leisure before a self transfer to Helsinki airport in time for your return flight back to the UK.
